![]() I would only perm a comp if I was doing internal chokes. That puts you into Mid barrel comp $$$ territory. the full size monster only makes sense to me with a chop and perm with possible gas work. The comps on the market that I would probably be looking at in your shoes are: mini monster, molot or clone, or jte. Max loads such as the standard winchester 15pellet OOB you can buy in bulk packs feel just about like the 9 pellet loads do without a comp. Standard 1325 FPS 9 pellet 00B or similar loads feel just slightly heavier than a normal 3 dram eq load, such that I didn't notice when I accidentally grabbed a mixed mag of them until afterwards. The one off comps I have used are similar to Molot and basically don't change the feel of 3 dram eq birdhshot loads but they probably improve split times. Other things are called "brakes" or flash hiders but are really only breachers.Īnd since MBCs involve trade offs between bulk, weight, blast, strength, linear thrust, and vertical thrust, and can be optimized for light loads, heavy loads or medium loads, it ultimately comes down to a value judgement based on someone's perception of those things. Also, the better designed ones thrust the barrel tip down and are therefore compensators. JTE) with angled vents and significant venting surface perpendicular to the bore or angled back tend to be happy with them. Short answer is that people who have brakes like molot, any of the tromix brakes or visually similar brakes (i.e. then the thing you notice is that you didn't notice the recoil as much. Well designed comps on the end of the barrel work well, but you won't notice much until you use hot ammo. Therefore, there probably is not currently a single person who can really tell you what is "best." My point was more that this comes up every few months and a bunch of people vote for the only one they have tried, and say it is better than models they have not tried. I asked for you opinion on muzzle brakes out regardless how poor they are to a mid barrel. I know a mid barrel brake is the way to go but again I didnt ask for the best method of braking or the best mid barrel brake.
